The most challenging things most people encounter when they first start working with websites and trying to earn money from Google is creating or gathering content for their newly acquired business. Within the last 12 months Google has made changes to their algorithm that severely punishes duplicate content and content farms all across the internet. Even well known websites with large marketing and web development budgets have seen their page rank decrease and their search results for keywords disappear because they didn’t take the time to ensure the quality of their content.
Of course we all want to make money with as little effort as possible, but we still have to remember that if we don’t add any value by what we are doing the dollars will most likely not come. This is not the effect of Google hitting you for some unknown reason, but rather customers on the internet are becoming more savvy each day, and your content needs to be believable, trustworthy and most of all entertaining or useful.
As you develop your web marketing skills remember to stick with what you know and what you’re interested in. This is classic and well proven advice provided to any writer whether they are starting a novel, creating a new poem, writing for a TV commercial, editorial for a newspaper or have dived into the internet and decided to start writing SEO text.
In any article that you write you should always take the time to proofread your content and ensure that the tone is correct and you’re able to clearly convey the proper message that needs to be delivered or communicated to your readership. Don’t be afraid to have an opinion or voice but ensure that everything is level-headed. Taking the time to inject some; style, flavor, excitement, humor or any interesting small bits is the spice of life and will make your article more readable an believable.
Of course once again the goal is to make money, earning a proper amount for the time spent, but we should all remember we’re part of the solution to make the whole internet more valuable. Let’s take the extra 30 seconds when writing to ensure we make the world and internet a better place by making our content useful and informative. If this becomes the style and quality of writing on your website you will be quite surprised by how much word of traffic will come. Again qualified leads are always the leads you can build your business upon long term.
